Where is Saltverk made?Updated 2 months ago
Saltverk sea salt is made in Reykjanes, in the remote Westfjords of Iceland, where some of the cleanest seawater in the world flows from the North Arctic Ocean stream into Ísafjarðardjúp bay. The area is alive with whales, seals, and seabirds, while natural hot springs dot the landscape, giving Reykjanes its name and unique character. This untouched environment is the foundation of our salt.
Using only geothermal energy from Reykjanes’ hot springs, 206 °F (93 °C) water powers every stage of production — from boiling to drying. With no carbon footprint or emissions, each flake is a true product of pure Icelandic nature.
